The Ark is a place where tamariki and whānau can develop resilience and skills to thrive.
The Ark preschool provides a loving environment guided by Christian beliefs and values. We embrace and celebrate each child's uniqueness, believing they are created and loved by God. We warmly welcome and include everyone.
Children learn to love
We are a mixed age centre that celebrates and encourages tuakana / teina relationships where younger children learn from older siblings and peers and older children develop leadership.
Children love to learn
We offer a play-based curriculum which empowers children to learn by valuing their interests. Tamariki are encouraged and supported in all areas; including cognitive (hinengaro), physical (tinana), emotional (whatumanawa), and spiritual (wairua).
We want preschool to be as accessible as possible
The Ark Preschool is free for children aged 3 until they start school, for up to 20 hours each week.
Our normal fees are $6.00 per hour. (Work and Income childcare subsidies are available.)

We absolutely love our Ark family. The teachers have been nothing but amazing, they really engage with the children, encourage friendships, and help build confidence. Our son went from needing someone to come to the gate to say goodbye and not having many friends or knowing how to make friendships.
Now he's got a great group of friends, loves going to preschool (especially tuakana time) and has a confidence he's never had before, which has opened up lots of doors for him, such a wonderful stepping stone into going to school and into the big wide world. Such a blessing to be part of such a beautiful environment.

The Ark has provided a safe space, where children have the freedom to play and learn, and the opportunity to take part in short organised activities within the centre, according to their interests and abilities. The Ark's teachers are like a second family to us, and although our journey there has just finished, we cannot recommend the centre and their teachers more!
